Biography

AmbaPrasad belongs to the popular paramparai of Sri Rajamanickam Pillai. His first Guru is the renowned Shresta Acharya Vid. Kumbakonam Janardhanam. Since his very first concert in 1992, he has performed over 1000 concerts as a solo violinist. Unusually for a violinist, he never accompanies other performers.
He plays on a self designed five stringed violin, which serves to enhance the technical brilliance and emotional range of his performances. He has a flair for experimenting, which results in compelling performances leaving audiences astounded.
He is fluent in working with the full range of accompaniments including the thavil. His concerts are well received by both the classes and the masses. He has been spreading the joy of music through his musical classes which are in person as well as online.
